Regency Park is a one-of-a-kind subdivision in the Parkdale Viking Hills community of Waco, Texas near the coast of Lake Waco. This area gets four distinct seasons with average July highs at about 95 degrees and January lows at 35 and more mild weather in between. Waco is located in East Texas between the more popular cities of Austin and Dallas. It takes about an hour and a half to two hours to get to either city from Waco.
The homes in Regency Park are gorgeous and unique in so many ways. Most, if not all of these homes, are large single-family homes with curved driveways and large front and back yards. Driving through the neighborhood is enough to make you picture yourself living in Regency Park, but what’s inside puts the icing on the cake. Imagine living in a four bedroom, four bathroom home. Open the doors to a luxurious curved staircase, gleaming hardwood floors, and tons of natural lighting shining through the window into the spacious rooms. When you walk into the kitchen, you see stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and dark brown accents. Then you look over to see a built-in wine rack and wine fridge. There’s a breakfast bar and quirky light fixtures bringing a splash of personality to the kitchen. From the kitchen, French doors open up to the spacious back patio, so it would be pretty easy to host a dinner party in the back. Imagine how cozy winter will be with the brick fireplace in the living room, and then head upstairs to find another brick fireplace in the master bedroom. The bedroom fireplace can keep you warm in bed during the winter, lowering the need for central heating, saving energy, and bringing a romantic atmosphere to the bedroom. Have a few date nights in the room by the fire. Going back down stairs, walk into the backyard to find a tranquil pool surrounded by lush greenery, with stepping stones leading up to the water. This would be an amazing place to have pool parties, yoga or meditation by the pool, or just to take the edge off when the summer peaks. All of this and more is what you will find at many of the homes in Regency Park. The area is so affordable, too.
If you enjoy getting some fresh air every once in awhile, there are several parks nearby. Mountainview Park features a playground, tennis courts, a jogging track, a splash pad, picnic tables, and open space. Viking Park also features a playground, tennis courts, and picnic tables, as well as a basketball court(s). Midway Park offers boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, and birding with campsites and access to Lake Waco. Lake Waco is 13.13 square miles. You can have so much fun at the lake enjoying all sorts of water activities. Another great way to enjoy the outdoors is at Ridgewood Country Club right next to Regency Park. This country club sits on a rolling, wooded region right on the shore of Lake Waco. There’s an incredible 18-hole championship golf course, six lighted tennis courts, a clay Hydrocourt, golf and tennis pro shops, a resort-style pool area with social and dining areas, a complete fitness center, and a marina on the lake. This course is, however, private. If you don’t want to become a member, go to Twin Rivers Golf Course for public access to a challenging, but friendly 18-hole golf course.
If you love family-fun adventure, one of the best places to go during the summer months, aside from Lake Waco, is Hawaiian Falls. Hawaiian Falls is a fun-filled water park with a wave pool, lazy river, splash ground, slides, and swim lessons! Bring your own food, or try out some of what the park has to offer including: burgers, nachos, pizza, brisket sandwiches, pickles, and lots more! If you’re not up for the park food, try a local spot to eat. There’s plenty of fast food nearby like Church’s Chicken, McDonald’s, Sonic Drive-In, Bush’s Chicken, Subway, and Dairy Queen. Other places nearby include Chopstix Chinese Cuisine, The Grillin’ Station, Happy Wok, and Taqueria El Mexicano Grill. All within five minutes from Hawaiian Falls.
When it’s time to go shopping, Regency has plenty of options nearby. If you need a mall, Richland Mall is the closest, at only five minutes away. Richland Mall has Build-A-Bear Workshop, Hot Topic, JCPenney, Claire’s, Forever 21, Foot Locker, and many other shopping mall favorites. Other places to get shopping taken care of nearby are Hobby Lobby, Craft Gallery Gifts and Home Decor Store, Burlington Coat Factory, Home Depot, Toys R Us, Big Lots, Barnes and Noble, and dozens of specialty and convenience stores. Far too many to list.
Regency Park truly has so much to offer residents and locals. There is an abundance of parks, restaurants, and shopping as well as the luxury of living on the shore of the massive and breathtaking Lake Waco. There are schools and churches all around for religious families and/or families with children.
